BOP Well Control Hose Application Range

A BOP is a device that stops formation fluid from flowing from wells. It is activated by a system of pumps that pressurized hydraulic control fluid and remote accumulators.

BOP equipment must be tested before spud, upon installation and following any change or repair of pressure containment seals in the BOP stack, choke line or choke manifold.

BOP Well Control Hose Series

The BOP Well control Hose series is used to control BOP's (Blowout Preventers), and associated valves that regulate well pressure during drilling operations. This hose is extremely strong and can withstand high pressure, high temperatures and flame resistance. It complies with API 16D.

It's made with a black oil resistant nitrile tube with a red fire & abrasion resistant neoprene cover. The tube is bonded to the neoprene cover using premium aramid fiber strands. The hose is also reinforced with multiple plies of spirally wrapped, high tensile steel wire and a variety of insulating layers to protect the inner tube from external heat.

These hoses can withstand flame temperatures of minimum 1300F (+700degC) for 5 minutes without failure. The hose is designed with superior flexibility, and withstands abrasion, corrosion, cutting, gouging, oil and weather.

It is available in a variety of lengths. It features male NPT threaded ends, flame resistant sleeves over ferrules, and quick connects with BOP. Typical fittings are crimped couplings and steel adapters.

precautions for installation of BOP well control hose

As the application range of BOP well control hose is wide, there are certain precautions that must be taken during its installation. These include the following:

The hose must be made of high quality materials to ensure that it can handle harsh oil field conditions and will not fail. These hoses are also resistant against fire, which is the most frequent cause of system damage.

They can operate at 5, 000psi while being exposed to direct fire for a minimum period of five minutes. This ensures that all well control operations can still be performed in an emergency. This hose is made to API 16D standards, making it ideal for this application.

Moreover, it has multiple layers of textile fabric and steel cable with one layer of middle rubber placed between the layers. This combination of materials creates a flame-resistant, fire-resisting and heat-insulating hose that is perfect for high pressure hydraulic applications on drilling control equipment.

In addition, these hoses are designed to be able to resist abrasion, cutting, corrosion, gouging and oil and weather exposure. They can be used for extended periods of time without any problems. These hoses are available in different sizes and have an overall length of up to 5000 meters.

media transmitted by BOP well control hose

BOP hydraulic control hoses are designed for a variety of application ranges. They are made with superior components that can withstand harsh oil field conditions. They are available in various sizes and can hold full working pressure for an extended period.

These hoses are made to API 16D and are rated for high pressure hydraulic applications on drilling control equipment. They are also able to withstand a flame temperature of 1300degF (700degC) for a 5-minute period.

A ram-type BOP uses steel plungers, called rams, to restrict or retract flow in a wellbore. The rams are usually fitted with packers that press against eachother and against the tubing that runs through it.

AFGlobal's active control device energizes dual spherical BOP packers to close on a dual-seal element assembly, forming a wellbore seal. Their closing pressure changes as the packers age to maintain the wellbore seal integrity.

The blowout preventer units seal the annulus of the wellbore and stop formation fluid from flowing out. Denser mud is pumped into the wellbore through the drill string, up to the annulus, and out through choke lines at base of BOP stack until pressure is overcome.

An electric drill's panel allows remote control of the pilot valve control manifold from the position of the driller. This system is explosion-proof and has two points of control.
